Q1.How do I run a Twitter/X giveaway and pick a random winner?
Run your giveaway on X (retweet, reply, or like to enter). When it ends, collect participant usernames — either by manually copying replies, using a third-party export tool, or screenshotting your analytics. Paste the list of @usernames into the "Paste / X" tab. The picker automatically extracts @handles from any raw text. Then spin to pick your winner.
Q2.How is the winner chosen? Is it truly random?
Winners are selected using crypto.getRandomValues() — the Web Cryptography API's cryptographically secure random number generator. This uses OS-level entropy sources and is far more random than Math.random(). The entries are shuffled using a Fisher-Yates shuffle with secure random indices before the animated reel settles on a winner.
Q3.Can I pick multiple winners at once?
Yes — set the "Pick N winners" count before spinning. Each winner is revealed one at a time with a separate spin animation. If "Remove winners from pool" is checked (default), each spin excludes previous winners so the same person can't win twice. All winners are logged in the session history.
Q4.What CSV format does the importer accept?
Upload any .csv file with names or usernames in the first column. Headers are auto-detected and skipped if the first cell contains words like "name", "user", "handle", or "participant". The importer works with exports from Google Forms, Typeform, Gleam, Mailchimp, Excel, and Google Sheets — anything with names in column A.
Q5.Can I use this for Instagram or TikTok giveaways too?
Yes. Any platform where you can collect a list of participant names or usernames works. Copy comment usernames from Instagram or TikTok into the Paste tab, or export entries from a giveaway app to CSV and upload it. The tool is platform-agnostic — it just needs a list of names.
Q6.Are the results saved anywhere?
No — this tool runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server, no names are stored, and everything is cleared when you close or refresh the page. For auditable giveaways, use the "Copy list" button to save your winner history before closing.
